The Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute (HWI) is a private, not-for-profit organization studying the structures and functions of macromolecules of biomedical interest. Additionally, HWI houses the Department of Structural Biology of the State University of New York at Buffalo's School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. HWI is part of the Buffalo-Niagara Medical Campus, a consortium of research, clinical, and educational institutions founded to cultivate a world-class medical campus in state-of-the art facilities in downtown Buffalo, NY, USA.
